The non-profit association Videospielkultur e.V. (VSK), founded in 2006, is committed to the recognition of video games as a valuable cultural asset – on a political, academic and social level. The VSK maintains an extensive collection of over 11,000 video games, almost 50 game consoles and home computers and several hundred German computer and video game magazines. It manages and preserves over 50 years of video game history. Interested parties are given access to the archive and can, if desired, consult the expert members of the association.
At the monthly “Games Lounge,” members and the interested public can meet in the Munich club rooms to play together, get to know each other, and engage in discussions. The “Games Lounge” is Germany’s oldest continuously held event series in the field of video game-related events.
