Games and Computers of a Past Era Foundation (Fundacja Gry i Komputery Minionej Ery) is a non-profit initiative created by enthusiasts of vintage gaming and hardware. It was born out of a desire to share a lifelong passion and a vast collection with as many people as possible, sparking a new-found enthusiasm for retro tech and gaming in others.
The Foundation originated from RetroGralnia, a group formed in 2010. Initially an informal collective, it focused on organizing lectures at festivals and conventions, setting up themed zones and displays at various events, and hosting numerous exhibitions. Through these efforts, the group has been a presence at over 60 events.
Today, as part of the Foundation’s activities, RetroGralnia pursues its mission primarily through its YouTube channel. The channel features a wide range of videos dedicated to the history of games, computers, and consoles, as well as hardware reviews, technical descriptions, and reports from retro-gaming and IT exhibitions.
Since 2017, the Foundation has operated the Museum of Games and Computers of a Past Era in Wrocław. Its guiding principle is to bridge the inseparable histories of video entertainment and home computing. It is a place where visitors can not only admire unique technical exhibits in display cases but also experience history firsthand – playing on nearly 50 different stations, including vintage computers, consoles, and arcade machines.
The Museum welcomes a vast number of visitors, ranging from private individuals to organized groups of primary, secondary, and university students. The Foundation also actively supports community engagement by providing free admission tickets for numerous competitions, tournaments, and events organized by both private and public institutions.
The Foundation continues to participate in various events, with its representatives serving as speakers, guests, and exhibition organizers. In October 2025, the Foundation organized the Games & Vintage Days Wrocław, which attracted over 12 000 attendees.
